TURF TODAY WITH DEREK WILLIAMS

On this episode of Turf Today on the Superintendent Network, Derek Williams, Superintendent at River Bend Club in Great Falls, VA, and combat veteran, shares his journey from a career in the Army, where he earned the Purple Heart, to the turf industry.

While there are many programs designed to help veterans transition to civilian life, Derek found his path in a different way: what started as hitting golf balls eventually grew into a passion for golf course maintenance, fueled by his love of working outdoors.

Derek also reflects on how many of the skills and values he developed in the military, such as authenticity, work ethic, and being on time translate seamlessly to his leadership on the golf course.
