TURF TODAY WITH BRIAN CHALIFOUX
We welcome Brian Chalifoux, Golf Course Superintendent at Fort Wayne Country Club in Fort Wayne, IN, to Turf Today on the Superintendent Network. Growing up as the son of a longtime superintendent, Brian was introduced to the game and the industry at an early age. Although he initially hoped to forge a different path, those early experiences ultimately led him back to the profession and into his own role as a superintendent.
Brian developed a strong interest in soil science while attending Purdue University, where he also completed several internships that helped shape his career in turf management.
Both Brian and his wife come from superintendent families, giving them a shared understanding of the demands and lifestyle of the golf industry. In this episode, Brian reflects on the lessons and memories he gained working alongside his father, emphasizing the importance of stepping away from the job, making time to play the game, and prioritizing family. He also highlights the value of strong leadership and mentorship within the industry.
